Q1: Is Pitwall an official Formula 1 app?
No. Pitwall is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Formula 1, the FIA or any team. F1, FORMULA ONE and related marks belong to Formula One Licensing BV.
Q2: How accurate is the live timing?
It comes from the sport’s own timing feed, so it is as current as that feed is, but it is unofficial. Expect it to run several seconds behind the television broadcast, and expect it to stop between sessions. Anything the app has to estimate rather than read is watermarked as simulated wherever it appears.
Q3: What does Pitwall Pro unlock?
Seven further app icons and the course beyond its first level. It is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. Live timing, the calendar, standings and results are free and stay free.
Q4: I paid on another device. How do I get Pro back?
Open the Pro screen and tap Restore. Any device signed in to the same Apple Account gets the purchase back. If it does not appear, check that you are signed in with the Apple Account you bought it on.
Q5: Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. We never ask for your email, name, or any contact details, and nothing you do in the app is reported back to us.
Q6: Does Pitwall work offline?
Partly. Sessions the app has already seen are archived on your device, so browsing past results, standings and the course works with no signal at all. Live timing and news need a connection, because they are being read from their sources as you look at them.
Q7: The widget or Live Activity is not updating.
iOS decides how often a widget may refresh, and it refreshes less when Low Power Mode is on or Background App Refresh is off for Pitwall. Check both in Settings, then open the app once to give the widget fresh data. A Live Activity ends automatically a while after the session it was following.
Q8: A number looks wrong. Where does it come from?
Every panel prints the source it was read from underneath it, and the app has a page listing what no free source can measure, so you can tell a gap from a mistake. If a figure is genuinely wrong, send us a screenshot with the round and session and we will look at it.
